Battery Place Residences

Urban Design Guidelines and Building Feasibility Design, 1986

This project for New York City’s Battery Park City was commissioned in response to a request for proposals submitted to the public Authority. It is a design for three separate blocks incorporating 540 dwelling units and space for retail, cinema, restaurants, a food market and a health club. Although the program, size and image of each site are different, visual continuity is maintained between the buildings which are linked by an axial arrangement of courtyards, gardens, arcades and public entries.

The model and drawings are not intended as finished architectural designs but represent detailed design guidelines to be followed during the project’s architectural development.
